Boxington announces sale of Gen2 to the City & Guilds Group
June 7, 2017
Human Capital M&A specialist, Boxington Corporate Finance (“Boxington”) is delighted to announce the sale of Gen2, the largest training provider to the UK civil nuclear industry, to the City & Guilds Group, a global leader in skills development.
Gen2 was originally established in June 2000 by a consortium of stakeholder companies across the Engineering, Nuclear, and Advanced Manufacturing sectors in the UK. Gen2 currently employs 160 staff and has 8 training & skills centres with 1,300 apprentices and 250 higher education students.
The acquisition expands the City & Guilds Group’s remit in technical and skills development, and strengthens its offering in STEM related industries and training delivery.
Commenting on the deal, Managing Director of Boxington, Tim Evans, said “our coverage of Human Capital sector buyers meant we were able to quickly identify and introduce Gen2 to its most strategic buyer in the City & Guilds Group. The apprenticeship sector is evolving rapidly following the recent introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy and we are looking forward to working on further deals in the sector”.
Deal price is not disclosed.
